Tissue characteristics (weight, thickness, pore size, and resistance to synthetic blood penetration) are believed to influence barrier activity and evaluate the relationship between these characteristics and BFE. Two difficult microorganisms, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli were studied in this study.
Continuing studies on various microorganisms and face masks with different properties provide more information on the barrier performance of face masks. The relationship between average pore size, maximum pore size, and pore size distribution with BFE performance should also be examined.
